Chicago -- The Michigan Grape & Wine Industry Council is sponsoring the "Michigan Wine Showcase" on Monday, May 12, at City Winery, located in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. Master Sommeliers Serafin Alvarado and Madeline Triffon are involved with this project and are excited to introduce some of the best wines from Michigan to the Chicago market.

This unparalleled tasting event will showcase 25 producers from all across Michigan ... an exciting opportunity to taste the best of Michigan grapes and terroir, and become acquainted with the diverse array of Michigan local wineries.

Winemakers and owners will be on hand during the walk-around tasting, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., to share their top wines made from Michigan's agricultural bounty. Guests can sample from more than 100 Michigan-grown wines paired with farm fresh passed hors d'oeuvres and Michigan wine-friendly bites made with locally sourced ingredients.

Admission is $50 per person. For more information, and to purchase tickets online, visit www.citywinery.com/chicago.

In addition to the evening tasting, the Showcase will be open from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. to culinary professionals, and restaurant, retailer and distributor staff. RSVP with your professional affiliation to Karel Bush at bushk9@michigan.gov.
